Two Up Two Down

KALGOORLIE BOULDER

COMMUNITY CHOIR

Friends united in the ecstacy of song!

Two Up Two Down is a community choir based at the Goldfields Art Centre Kalgoorlie. The choir takes its unusual name from the splitting of songs into four parts:- soprano, alto, bass and tenor. Men typically take bass and tenor parts, while the women can be tenor, alto or soprano.

We are a community choir and no auditions are required. Our repertoire is "mixed modern" through to old "music hall".

We meet on every Monday, 7pm at the Goldfields Art Centre, Ensemble Room at 7pm.

From it's inception in 2015 Desert Heart Song Festival has seen many changes. Since the the last one in 2022 we have had two Directors and gone through the many problems of rebuilding after Covid. Even with greatly reduced numbers we managed to participate in the 2023 Guildford Songfest and maintained our program of civic performances.

In 2024, with a new Director, the choir returned to full strength. and are now ready to host the 2024 Kalgoorlie Desert Heart Song Festival.. The dates are 16 to 18 of August 2024. Expect a weekend of song and fun. There will be events around town all weekend.

Friday night - Meet and greet
Saturday morning - Choirs will be given different venues for singing
Saturday afternoon - Rehearsals
Saturday evening - The Main Concert (open to the public) followed by being bused to
a large hotel (this is free time and party time)
Sunday morning - Choirs will be allotted to a Church of their own choice. The
Vietnam Service in the Park will be open to anyone who would like to join in (you
may be interested in brushing up on the Australian National Anthem).
Barbecue and lunch at a selected venue where Choirs will be able to sing as well.
Closing in time to be on the train at 2.00pm.

Registration is now closed...
